Are the notes just a pile of PDFs?+
No. They're web pages — every example reveals a step at a time, so you try it before you see it. The Cog is the only part meant to be printed.
What if it's not working out?+
Grinds: we refund every week you haven't had. No quibble, no forms. The notes: 14 days, full refund — after that the year's notes are yours to keep.
Do I need the grinds as well, or are the notes enough?+
The notes are the full course, in order — they'll carry you a long way alone. The grinds add me: a class each week where questions get asked out loud. Whatever you paid for the notes comes off the grinds, so starting with the notes costs you nothing if you change your mind in January.
Can I ask questions?+
Grinds students: yes — online or in class. I answer it to everyone, because if you're stuck, others are too. Stuck at home? Email me the question. I always come back to you.
The notes on their own don't include me answering individual questions — but every worked example reveals a step at a time, so you can get unstuck without needing to ask.
If I decide to add the grinds as well, do I have to do them live?+
No. The grinds are a separate thing you can add on — they are not part of the notes — and you don't have to be there live. Every grind is recorded and the recordings are always available, so you go at your own pace and never miss anything.
Are the jokes any good?+
No. My maths jokes are famously bad, and you get one whether you want it or not. You'll groan, and you'll remember the maths anyway. (Sample: why is six afraid of seven? Because seven eight nine.)

Term 1 is 15 weeks — 31 August to 17 December. That's all you pay now. The term price is simply the weekly rate times the weeks — €30 a week for 6th Higher, €20 for everyone else. Nothing rounded up. Term 2 is booked separately in the new year.
The last six weeks, we go up a gear. From 19 April, 6th Higher goes to three grinds a week; 6th Ordinary and 3rd Year go to two. Then we come back in for the two exam weekends — Saturday and Sunday night before Paper 1, and again before Paper 2. Ten extra grinds, no extra charge.

I'm Carl Lynch. I've taught maths at St Kieran's College in Kilkenny since 1992, and wrote every word of the notes myself.
