What a grind is
Every grind is interactive: Carl explains something, gives you a question, you do it, then he runs through the answer. You're actively doing the maths and learning as you go, not sitting watching. Have a go at the box on the right. That's exactly how a grind, and every note, works.

Every example in the notes reveals one step at a time, like this.
Structure. The grinds run from the very beginning of the course right to the end. Everything gets covered, in order, so by exam day you know your stuff. A one-to-one hour never covers enough. You dip in and out and whole sections get missed. Here, nothing gets left out. It's taught by the man who's taught Higher Level for 34 years and wrote the notes himself.
"I did the online grinds with Carl and I got a H1. What I liked was being able to cover the whole course in a very structured manner compared to school." — Leaving Cert Higher Level student
No. Every grind is recorded and the recordings are always available, so you go at your own pace and never miss anything.
"I used the recordings when I was sick or at training, great for revising or going back over stuff." — Leaving Cert Higher Level student
Yes. Ask online or in class. Carl repeats the question and answers it to everyone, because if you're stuck on something, chances are others are too, so the whole class benefits.
And if you're studying at home and get stuck, email Carl the question. He always gets back to you with help.
Yes. Four tests in first term, plus homework corrected and marked throughout.
Yes, fully covered, like everything else on the course.
Yes. A one-to-one grind averages around €50 an hour. The full online course with Carl works out at a fraction of that. Far better value, and you get the notes, the tests and the recordings with it.
No. Carl's maths jokes are famously bad, and you get one whether you want it or not. You'll groan, and you'll remember the maths anyway. (Sample: why is six afraid of seven? Because seven eight nine.)

The notes
You work from the bottom up. Learn as you climb, until you know your stuff. And any time you get stuck, you can always go back a step.
The teachers
Carl has taught Higher Level Leaving Cert Maths for 34 years and founded Revise.ie in 2007. He wrote the Mathslive notes, and teaches every Leaving Cert grind himself.
The aim is simple: maths properly understood, not memorised. Methods that hold up under exam pressure, and the H1 within reach for students who do the work.
Gerry Walsh teaches the 3rd Year Junior Cert Higher grinds, live each week, taking students through the whole course the same structured way.
Same notes, recordings, homework and tests, and the same money-back promise as every grind.
Nothing to gamble
